Wingate Inn's Jazz 'N' Wine
Located in the plush Trinity Episcopal Church Courtyard and grounds, Jazz 'N' Wine is Rivers and Spires Annual Wine Tasting. Samplings include award winning vineyards from across Tennessee in a French country garden atmosphere. The nearby Jazz Stage will fill your ears with soothing sounds as tanins from area wines excite your mouth. Come wander from vineyard to vineyard sampling the wonderful vintages. For guests 21 years and over, an armband may be purchased for $10 at the gate allowing you open access to sample to your heart's content.
The 2008 Rivers & Spires Festival will offer fun informative workshops on the pairing of food and wine. We will also offer special appetitizers for purchase as an added treat to your wine tasting experience prepared by "The Personal Chef". Chef Hay is preparing several special treats you will not be able to be purchase anywhere else at the festival. Make plans to visit the Jazz'n Wine area in order not to miss all the surprises she preparing for your taste buds to enjoy.
Wine and Food Lovers will find something new,fun and exciting in the Jazz'N Wine area this year. Yes, we will have the annual tasting of all the wonderful vintages made throughout Middle Tennessee. Many of us love wine, and food is a given, but there are times we become confused about pairing the two, how do you choose? How often are you given the opportunity to ask about wine or Taste amazing food when paired with wine make a perfect marriage?
At the 2008 Rivers & Spires Festival you are invited to attend three (3) wine and food pairing workshops on Saturday afternoon, April 19, that will be conducted in a tent at the Jazz'N Wine area. Each "class" will be 30 minutes and hosted by Chef Patty Hay , a local caterer and Louisa Cooke of Beachaven Winery. Chef Hay will be sampling the preparation of her food delicacies and Cooke showcasing a companion wine. Together they will discuss various choices of food and wine, as well as, share a few great tidbits about wine basics: buying, storing, opening,serving, tasting, and more.
There will be seating for 40 people on a first come, first served basis. You must have a purchased $10 wristband to participate.
